:::TCB::: #8 Calendar Challenge 2013

Today it's time for page #8 of the Calendar Challenge 2013 at The Craft Barn. This time it's Children/Cute... Okay, it's not really a cute page, but I hope this one is okay ;) as I've used a children image.
The background is sprayed with Dylusion spray inks and Glimmer Mist and I've used a stencil, too. The image from Crafty Individuals is colored with Neo Color II.

:::TIO:::130 Magical Mystery

Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Dragons Dream Tag It On. Today it's my team mate Monique who is coming up with a new recipe "Magical Mystery" and her three ingredients are A Little Magic, Some Mystery and Fairy Dust... and of course the use of at least one real stamp.
For the background I've taken Dylusion ink sprays and a wire stencial. The stars and the moon are stamped with 3 D stamp paint. Can you see the shimmer on the background ? A bit of fairy dust (Perfect Pearls) The batwoman is colored with Distress ink and I wiped stickes over her dress.
This tag is also a Design Team piece for Oxford Impressions using the wonderful Masquerade plate.

:::TFJ::: #8 12 Tags of Christmas 2012

Still behind, but still catching up with the 12 Tags of Christmas challenge at Linda's The Funkie Junkie. Today I show you my vintage cabinet card version of Linda's tag #8 which you can see here. To learn all about this challenge - which is sponsered by The Funkie Junkie Boutique - read on Linda's blog.
Creating this tag I took not only the inspiration from Linda's tag, but also from Tim Holtz's November tag. So I've a combined piece today....
The Christmas tree is stamped with DI Pine Needles and clear embossed. Then I sprayed some water onto the background and blended with several Distress Stains and Distress Inks. It needed several layers until I was satisfied with the result.  All die cuts are colored with DI and then I stamped with Encore Gold.
All images are from Oxford Impressions, this time I used the Sleigh Bells plate.

:::TFJ::: #7 12 Tags of Christmas 2012

Okay... and one more vintage cabinet card today. Still catching up the 12 Tags of Christmas at Linda's The Funkie Junkie and today it's my version of her tag #7 which you can see here. Linda used a great background technique which I didn't done before, but I think this wasn't the last time. It's the faux suede technique shown in Tim Holtz' Compendium of Curiosities Vol. II, really a great one. After coloring the faux suede with Distress Stains Spun Sugar and Bundled Sage I applied Perfect Pearls "Perfect Gold" with  my finger tips. Then I stamped with Archival Coffee. The little boy is from the Seasons of Giving plate from Oxford Impressions, stamped with Archival Coffee onto mat glossy. The corrugated cardboard is colored with Distress Stains Tarnished Brass, then I brushed a little bit of white gesso over it and highlighted with RubOns.

:::TFJ::: #6 12 Tags of Christmas 2012

Another day, another vintage cabinet card and I'm catching up the 12 Tags of Christmas challenge at Linda's The Funkie Junkie again. Today it's my version of her tag #6 which you can see here. To read all about this challenge - sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique - take a look at Linda's blog.
Great inspiration on Linda's tag again. I really love the background technique glueing an old bookpage onto a cardstock, then to applying packing tape and at least peeling it off which pulls of the print. I've also be inspired by the pine trees and the wheatered clock (one of my favorite dies). Mine is colored with DI Aged Mahogany and then clear embossed with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. For the snowflake (a spellbinder one) is colored with Distress Stains Brushed Pewter, which I also wiped over the pine trees. Fabric rosettes are colored with Distress Stains Spun Sugar and Aged Mahogany.

:::VSC::: Color Challenge - Inspiration

Today it's inspirational time. I've created a tag for the actual Color challenge on Vintage Stamping Challenge. We are looking forward to your works. So, come over and enter your creation here.
This challenge is sponsered by Flonz Craft and the monthly winner will receive a $ 20,00 voucher for Leo's store. I've used Gibson Kid 08 for my winter tag.

Cabinet card by cabinet card I'm catching up the 12 Tags of Christmas 2012 challenge at Linda's The Funky Junkie. Today I'm coming up with my version of her tag #5. Lots of inspiration there, the snowflakes in emboss resist technique, pieces of a musical sheet, some tickets, the paper rosette and more. Please take a look at Linda's tag here and read all about the challenge rules on her blog. This challenge is sponsered by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.
The background of my vintage cabinet card is colored with DI Antique Linen and then I stamped some snowflakes with embossing ink for the emboss resist technique. I glued a piece of paper lace onto the background and then I sponged the whole background with several Distress inks. The edges of the paper rosettes are colored with Encore gold.

But please keep in mind that we are a stamping challenge and that we want to see minimum one real stamp.... and... digis are absolutely not allowed.
Christmas is coming soon and I've decided to made another Christmas card using the Season of Giving and the Country Girl plate from Oxford Impressions.
After I glued some pieces of an old book on the background I colored it with Distress Stains and then stamped with 3-D stamp paint. The house and the boy are stamped with Archival on matte Glossy and colored with Distress.

:::TioT::: Memories

A new challenge theme on Try it on Tuesday and their design team call is still open. Hop over and take a look if you're interested. The actual theme is Memories, perfect for the Abraham Lincoln plate from Oxford Impressions.
First of all I stamped the lady with Gathered Twigs and embossed the image with Distress Powder Walnut Stain, then I colored the background with Distress Antique Linen, Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet and stamped on with Chalks Blushed Rose (searching for a matching color I remembered the drawer containing the chalk ink pads :D ).
The paper border is a die cute and the edges are distressed with Gathered Twigs, still in a sewing mood I sewed the border onto the card. The small lady is stamped with Archival Coffee and colored with Distress inks using a waterbrush. It's always great to have the matching colors :) All egdes are distressed and colored with Gathered Twigs.

:::VSC::: #2 Colors Challenge

Wohow... November, 1st, only two month to go until end of 2012. And today it's time for #2 on Vintage Stamping Challenges which is sponsered by FLONZ Craft. But first of all a big THANK YOU for all the wonderful entries to our very first challenge during October, it was really a pleasure to come and visit your blogs.
For November we come up with a Color Challenge, you can select between Red/Green/Blue/Purple, you may take one, two, three or all of these colors in your works, it's up to you. Maybe you are in the mood to create a Christmas card as Christmas is coming soon ;)
The first step was to glue some pieces of an old book page to my background, then to color with Distress, to spray with GlimmerMist and to splatter golden acrylics over it. The Layered Poinsettia, a Spellbinder die, is a blog candy from Rivien _Die besondere Karte_ which I won this summer. As a finishing touch I wiped Stickles over the blossom.
I used the wonderful Fashion Lady XIX America Century image.
